whats this?

an update!!!

incredibly enough, i've managed to get hold of a com while on hol. yay. anyway, the journey to gamish in germany was an expensive and tiring one. basically, we took an extremely long-cut from the munich airport to the place and we ended up handing 200 euros to the cab driver who very generously gave a discount. went skiing for the next 2 days, and found out i hadn't forgotten how to ski, yay again. Oh, also went to Innsbruck, Austria, for the day. omgeeeeeeeeeee, tis a pretty place, austria. the christmas market is the extremely charming and coupled with snow falling, is really lovely. the food so far has been quite good... the hash browns at the extremely large and sprawling munich christmas market stand out, as well as the crepe at the gamish market...and the doughnuts at the innsbruck market...ok fine, the food HAS been good.

currently in my aunts house, but we had to book a hotel toom for the night as the plumbing system is screwed, lol, so we need the hotel room to bathe, etc. going to watch chelsea vs fulham tomorrow, lol, i'm still a man utd fan though! hoping for a high scoring draw!

if this entry seems a bit disjointed, well, it is. i'm currently helping my uncle to rip cds onto his com, and am having short term memory loss regarding the events which have conspired these past few days.

jokes of the day:

what sits in a pram and wobbles? a jellybaby.
what sort of man has balls which go 'ding'? a man whos bal-ding.
what sort of people are afraid of santa? claustrophobic people.
what is rudolph's favourite type of weather? rain, cos he's a reindeer.

oh, and continuing with the disjointed-ness of todays post, i would just like to say that german yooths are a decadent bunch. when they grow older they become nice folks who help to carry stuff off trains etc, but when they're young they dye their hair green, smoke in non-smoking cabins only to get thrown out later onto a cold random station for not having a ticket, and are also quite noisy. oh well.

merry christmas.

and a happy new year!

time is running out, this is a... anywayyyyyyy, i think this will be my last post of 2005, unless i somehow find a free com at the airport or i use my uncle's com in london or i manage to use the com before heading for new years eve dinner. well, i'd just like to say that 2005 has got to be about the fastest year i've ever lived. its been cool hanging around in the class of enoch, slacking and laughing everyday from 7.40-2.40, lol, and towards the end of the year bb and church also aided in accelerating time as well. sadly, enoch is no longer, save for s10.invisionfree.com/acxis (someone challenge me, the one who sits on the ozone throne!!!), but bb and church remain. more importantly, God has remained with me throughout the year; looking back, He helped me pass my chinese o's, and helped give me the strength to wake up at around 8.30am every sunday to go to church, where i think i've learnt a bit more stuff than i did in the past (which basically means stoning at main service).

next year though, i PROMISE to everyone that i will study harder and have more faith than i did this year, and pray God does the rest. this year i did ok at first and did even better in term 3, with a 73% average. i studied harder, but did crap at the end... i guess i relied on my own strength too much. the new year beckons, a whole new world of challenges await you (lol, stole that from the beginning of the pokemon game)...

but before that, a long-awaited journey to germany and england must be undertaken. hopefully, i will go skiing, which will aid me in my quest to become singapore's number one skiier. there's also a football match between chelsea and fulham to watch! muahahaha... *suddenly realises that the flight to england will take around 13 hours, and then the flight to germany will take another 2 hours* ...nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

lol. merry christmas, and a happy new year.

we wish you a merry christmas

went carolling yesterday. first stop was a children's home where i met a kid named beckham, lol. then went to 2 old folks homes. the first one was called cheshire home and i managed to get to know a woman who has studied grade 4 piano theory but has never played a piano, while also meeting a former gangster who has a lot of funny stories about his life. now he turns away if u call him by his gang name cos he's afraid that u are about to extort money from him or kill him, so u must call him frankie. then he's got some stupid jokes like this:

there was man who went to a restaurant and ordered meat balls. when the balls came they were huge, and he couldn't finish them. next time he came, the meat balls were tiny. so he asked the waiter, "why are the meat balls so small today?"
the waiter replied, "cos the bulls today only got small balls!"

wtf man.

the last home, was quite sad la. the old ppl there had to be tied to their beds, they pee-ed everywhere, even on the floor, and they were all quite mad. there was even this gay man who touched me la! damn scary. anyway, the carolling itself was ok, considering i only went for the last practice, missing out on a whole month's worth of practice sessions. the bus ride was fun as well...weasley,zhi guang, chris yan, and i got involved in a conversation regarding who is the most ownage; king kong, godzilla, the megazord, ultraman, and captain planet. then there was the scandal abaout brian quek and the christmas cards, lol.

anyways, i'm going on holiday soon, yay. haven't packed though, crud. oh, and did i mention school's starting in about 2 weeks? cheers, and merry christmas (this is in case i do not feel inclined to blog again while i'm still here)!!!

3hrs later....

my neck is severed, limbs numb, and brain washed. haha. i admit i exaggerated a bit. but still, king kong was a really loooonnnnnnggggggggg show. a bit too long in fact. there were so many out of points scenes that by the end of the show, you've forgotten half of them. there were jokes, funny ones, but they all seem so long ago, thanks to countless, pointless fights.

*spoilers here, so don't continue if you dont want to*

the scenes are also hardly believable... kong tries to kill puny adrien brody but is foiled when swathes of bats come to get him. this is the same kong who knocked the lights out 2 t-rexes and literally made one's jaw drop. then when he's about to get brody and watts, they fall and SOMEHOW manage to grab onto a bat! then they manage to time their fall in such a way that they land in a river, from which they manage to navigate the island and head back to the camp without a map and prior experience in the terrain. tsk.

oh, and the planes somehow kept missing king kong, who, as a pretty big fella, should've been an easy target. i suspect peter jackson wanted to hit the 3hr mark just to stamp his mark (heh) on the film.

jackson: i'll turn this lame plot into a classic! that means it has to be long! titanic and LOTR won and they clocked 3 hrs!!! must mean king kong will win if it clocks in at 3hrs. ok pilots, i want you all to miss a lot of shots so the scene can drag on for 15minutes!

anyway, the graphics aren't that much to bawl about either. i think they sorta ran out of time. some scenes were ownage, but others were, erm, not so good.

well, besides those slight problems i had with the show, i think it was ok. acting was good... jack black ownz again as usual, adrien brody is good at being himself (broody, geddit?), and naomi watts really lights up the screen (watts, geddit?).

on a different note, i think man utd will bounce back tonight and beat wigan 2-0.

FINALLY!

the run of camps and sgb dates are over. the sgb dates were sian, but the 2 camps were probably the most fun camps i've ever attended.

firstly, the bb camp. it seems like such a long time ago now, 1-3 dec, when i was at bbhq with the other bb boys and some ppl from mcyc. as my wrist was still injured from the sentosa incident, i was appointed photographer and had to sit out canoeing, rock-climbing, and some other activities. however, i still managed to play soccer...it was fun watching eggy score after many tries, and even more fun watching some 10 yr old kids run rings around us at times. also went running with zy, melvin, nathan and david (an mcyc kid whos in pri 5) to SUNTEC CITY from zion rd. omg, that kid's super fit la, kept up despite being like, 5 years younger. anyway, there was also this movie marathon were we watched hot chick, the longest yard, and other stuff until 4.30am. the others stayed on to watch pirate of the carribean, crazy buggers. the camp also allowed us to realise how fortunate most of us are, u know, coming from good families and such.

well, after that was the church camp. ok, last yr's church camp was damn sian outside of the worship sessions, cos i didnt click with the group, so i ended up spending group time and quiet time stoning. however, this camp was the polar opposite; everything was fun, including my group, although we were a bit quiet at times. the games were cool, though they did border on sick at times, eg., pass water from cup to cup where some one is holding the cup in his/her mouth, and the water is passed on by an unfortunate fella biting a straw... transfering water from pail to pail using girl's hair or boy's shirts, etc. some games seemed a tall order (we had to build a tower consisting of straws and place an egg at the top, doh), but we OWNED them. ok la, owned is an overstatement, but we did reasonably well. winning 4/9 games.

the group also decided that losing was not part of our vocab, so it became not winning instead, lol.

person 1:"arghs! we lost!!"
person 2:"no! we just didn't win!"

then there was the massive war game. OMG, our team consisting of 2 groups totally owned. we captured 5 flags, but had to return one cos it was our allies. haha, friendly fire on. anyway, we built this real cool base with masking tape traps to peel off unsuspecting victims leg hair. in fact, my group was uber obsessed with using duct tape to de-hair ppl la, lol. the women's platoon did well, as they captured the flags, while the brave men formed static defence, lol. the only time i left my post i got hit down there and was left rolling around for five minutes in excruciating agony.

i also spent a lot of time fooling around with weasley, zun you, jerome, kenchin...from taopoking ppl in the hall with ken to making stupid jokes with jerome and weasley's group at mealtimes. which reminds me, their group was SUPER fun la. everybody was retarded in his or her own way. i think they spent every single group discussion time playing heart attack and doing forefeits, eg, jerome singing sandra's mom and writing a letter to the acjc prom queen who was his group leader, LOL. muahaha, i never lost at heart attack, and hence did not have to do any forefeit, unlike poor matthias, who had to stand and get hit down there by a ball.

and finally, i enjoyed this camp cos i heard God's voice. i'm still not very sure sometimes whether it is Him or another voice telling me to do something, but i know that what was told to me at camp was DEFINITELY His voice. learnt many other things, which i never knew, and i really believe that this camp did wonders for me. hopefully, i will keep the faith and stay an 'on' Christian.

there are many more things that happened at camp, but then the tale would be too long to tell. all i know is that i can't wait for next year's camp!
